Joel W. Shupp's Obituary
Joel W. Shupp, age 74, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Brookdale Village in Westlake.
He was born September 5, 1943 in Galion and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 51 years.
Joel served in the US Army and worked as an accountant. He was the co-owner of Lorain County Tax Service for many years.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville and a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed boating, spending time with his grandkids, model trains (G scale); mowing lawns, coaching for North Ridgeville’s 8th grade football, and was an avid Buckeye and Cleveland sports fan.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Sandra (nee Tomasheski); daughter, Shelley J. Shupp of Cleveland; son, Joel M. (Shannon) of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Emma Shupp, Ashton Ambler, Joel R. Shupp, Alexander Shupp; brothers, George (Diane) Shupp of North Ridgeville, Richard Shupp of Elyria; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C. Joel and Mary (nee Swank) Shupp.
Friends may call Thursday from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018, 9:30AM at the funeral home followed by a 10 AM mass at St Peter Church.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Elyria.
