Joe Wesley Bingham's Obituary
Joe Wesley Bingham, age 75, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at his home. He was born in Boyle, Mississippi, and has been a resident of northeastern Ohio since 1976, formerly of Michigan. Joe went into the Army after graduating from high school, then worked as a Credit Manager for Firestone, Alcan, and Novelis before retiring in 2005. He was a lector and eucharistic minister for St. Peter in North Ridgeville, and St. Peter Lorain where he was also a member of the Alpha Program. He enjoyed running, walking, and golfing; one of his proudest moments was a hole in one which he accomplished in August of 2014. He was a devoted husband and father, a handyman around the house, a Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, and University of Michigan fan, and loved spending time with his family and his dog, Zoey. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Judy (nee Schroeder); daughters Jill (Dino) Pappas of Avon, Jennifer (Ryan) Springston of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren Alex, Kayleigh, Austin, Emily, Abbie; brothers Boyd, Billy; sisters Zelma, Velma, Carolyn, Joyce; he was preceded in death by his parents James Boyd and Lillie Mae, and sister Frances Bingham. A memorial mass will be held at 9:15 am on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain, OH. Rev Craig Hovanec will officiate.
