Joan Long's Obituary
Joan Margaret Long (nee Cawrse), age 70, of North Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday at St. John WestShore Hospital, Westlake, following a short illness.
She was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1973.
Mrs. Long worked as a blue print tracer for Electric Controller Manufacturing in Cleveland in the 1950's. She worked as a cashier at the Convenient Food Mart at Barton Road in North Ridgeville from 1986-1996.
She was a founding member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church where she was active with the women's renewal, RCIA, the Wednesday evening Rosary group and Cursillo. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and drawing artistically with pencil and calligraphy.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Herbert; sons, Scott and Barry both of North Ridgeville, Kevin of Avon Lake and Doug of Medina; daughter, Erin Jester of North Ridgeville; 14 grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Bertrand of Lakewood; brothers, Tom Cawrse of Burke, Virginia, Tim Cawrse of Northboro, Massachusetts.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Isa Cawrse; sons Les Long June 2003 and infant Jeff Long in 1957.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville where a funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM.
Rev. Dr. Richard Gonser, Pastor will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Avon.
