Joan S. Isenberg's Obituary
Joan S. Isenberg, age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away at Brentwood Healthcare Center on Tuesday June 2, 2026.
Joan was born in Elyria to Agnes (nee Stark) and James Berchak. She attended Kent State University and worked in sales at Sears for over 16 years, before retiring in 2002. On June 3rd, 1961, Joan married the love of her life, the late Bill Isenberg. Joan was also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria, where she volunteered for their yard sale.
In her free time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, making ceramics, and spending time with her family.
Joan also enjoyed getting together with her Sears retirement lunch group and her sewing group, nicknamed “Sewing Grannies.”
She is survived by her children Jeff (Tracy) Isenberg of Lorain, Michelle Dalton of North Ridgeville, Greg (Melissa) Isenberg of Sagamore Hills, grandchildren Lee Isenberg, Doug (Megan) Isenberg, Michael (Amber) Dalton, Erin (Theo) Isenberg, Lauren Isenberg, McKenna Isenberg, and Lindsey Isenberg, great-grandson Skylar Isenberg, sister Carol Smith, and special niece Alice (Jamie) Rebello.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Isenberg, and parents Agnes (nee Stark) and James Berchak, and sister Jan Docs.
Friends may call on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039.
There will also be a prayer service on Wednesday, June 10, beginning at 10am at Bogner Funeral Home, followed by a mass, beginning at 10:30am, at St. Jude Catholic Church 590 Poplar Street, Elyria, OH 44035. Rev. John Seabold will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
