Joan Havanish's Obituary
Joan D. Havanish (nee Kus), 76 of North Ridgeville, died Saturday July 28 at her residence following a short illness.
Mrs. Havanish was born March 23, 1931 in Cleveland, and had also resided in Berea where she co-owned Grindstone Inn for fifteen years, retiring in 1973. She moved to North Ridgeville in 1977, and involved herself with various community programs. Her activites included being an
active member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, president of Prime Timers, past president of Parish Council, RCIA volunteer, Lorain County Social Concerns Committee board member, arts and environment committee, the prison ministries of Lorain County, and she also served as a eucharistic minister.
Surviving are her sister, Marlene Fink.; three nieces; two nephews, and two great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1990; and parents, Joseph and Eleanore Kus (nee Bican).
Friends will be received Tuesday from 3-8PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30AM Wednesday. Funeral Mass to follow at 10AM at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Dr. Richard Gonser will be the celebrant.
Interment will be private at Hillcrest Memorial Park , Bedford.
Memorial donations may be made to the church or to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 424 Middle Ave. Elyria, OH 44035.
