Jessie Harold Rogers' Obituary
Jessie Harold Rogers, age 82, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Kemper House in Strongsville.
He was born in Littleton, Alabama and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 54 years moving from Cleveland.
Jessie served in the US Air force from 1957-1960.
He worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1991 after 38 years of service.
He was a former parishioner of Fields United Methodist Church, where he ran the youth group.
He was a member of the NRA and previous member of the Ashland Lake Gun Club. Jessie was an avid Alabama and Ohio State fan who enjoyed traveling. He coached Pee Wee football and softball and was also a cub scout leader. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed working on cars and also built the house that he and his family live in. Harold never met a stranger and could talk a dog off a meat wagon.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Linda (nee Shively); sons, Jeff (Nada) Rogers of North Ridgeville, Kevin (Tracy) Rogers of North Ridgeville, Shawn (Heather) Rogers of Alabama; daughter, Robin (Brent) Gates of Columbus; grandchildren, Drew (Alicia), Cody (Chelsey), Spencer, (Courtney), Sydney, Courtney, Tanner, Kelsey, Kaylee, Mandy (Steve), Kevin, Morgan and Jessie; great-grandchildren, Makenzie and Jaxson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lillian (nee Hollis) Rogers and brother, Jimmy Rogers.
Friends may call Monday from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Carol Sereix will officiate.
Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
