Jerry Hales' Obituary
Jerry L. Hales, age 63, of Grafton, died Sunday at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Maumee, Ohio and had been a resident of Grafton since 1991 moving from North Ridgeville where he had lived for most of his life.
Mr. Hales was the co-owner and operator of Hales Florist in North Ridgeville for the past 44 years.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville and a former member and past president of the North Ridgeville Lions Club.
He also taught landscaping classes at the Lorain County Joint Vocational School for many years.
He was and avid hunter and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his daughter Dawn Alpine of North Ridgeville; son Mark of Elyria; 5 grandchildren; his twin brother Jim of North Ridgeville and sister Judy Norris of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Ruth (nee Steinmetz) Hales.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9PM and Thursday from 10:30 until the time of services at 11:30AM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. C. Michael Gibson , Pastor of Fields United Methodist Church, North Ridgeville will officiate.
