Jerome J. "Jerry" Bylewski's Obituary
Jerome J. "Jerry" Bylewski, age 75, passed away on May 30, 2015 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of Elyria for the past 12 years moving from North Olmsted.
He was a Police Officer for the Cleveland Police Department for 30 years, retiring in 1995. During his last 5 years on the force, he worked on Mayor Michael White’s detail.
Jerry was a member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Elyria and the NRA.
He enjoyed playing cards, collecting stamps, coins and die cast cars, gardening, yard work, painting by number, black velvet painting and playing the accordion.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (nee Obojski); daughter, Tina (Brad Meng) Bylewski of Elyria; sons, Rick (Melanie) Bylewski of North Ridgeville, Eric (Kathleen) Bylewski of Wellington; granddaughters, Bailey Ann, Madelynn; grandson Brycen; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul; parents, Francis and Victoria (nee Tuholski) Bylewski and brother, Frank Bylewski.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria. Rev. Frank Kosem, Pastor, will be the celebrant. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
