Jeanette E. Vibbert-Pilan's Obituary
Jeanette Vibbert-Pilan died unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on 6/05/2026. She was born in Florence, Colorado on 9/13/1959. Her life started off as a vagabond with her father who was a career military man in the Army. She has lived and traveled all over the world. Her favorite place to live and where she received most of her education was in Panama City, Central America. Later in life, Jeanette and husband revisited her Alma Mater in 2018 and she was so proud of that trip. Once her father retired in 1979 to Tennessee, Jeanette decided to follow her oldest sister, Glenda Pugh and her Marine husband to Oceanside, CA. She lived in that area for several years until she met her soul mate, Chris Pilan. She gave birth to their first son, Nick Pilan on 7/23/1988. A few years later, they moved to Ohio where she gave birth to her second son, Mitch Pilan on 12/20/1995. Jeanette was a devoted mother. Her and Chris raised their boys and resided in the same residence for 38 years. Jeanette enjoyed being a homemaker and loved cooking. As the boys grew a little older, Jeanette worked as a CNA for 20+ years in local nursing homes. Once the boys graduated, she became a licensed real estate assistant and worked alongside her husband. Her personal sanctuary was her family’s cottage at Pleasant Hill Lake where she loved to fish, ride the pontoon, cook, but most importantly spent time with her family. Jeanette was extremely proud of her boys, she was a loving sister. A wonderful daughter and a loving friend. Jeanette wholeheartedly loved those who touched her life.
Jeanette is preceded in death by her father, Maclcolm Taylor, her brother-in-law, Edward Anthony Pilan and her father-in-law, Edward Christopher Pilan. She is survived by her husband, Chris Pilan, her two sons, Nick and Mitch Pilan, siblings Michael Vibbert, Kurt Pruitt, David Piehl, mother-in-law, Carol Pilan, sister-in-law Amy Rhodes, niece Ellie Halloran, sisters Glenda Pugh, Patty Stanley, Donna Wren and brother David Taylor.
Jeannette will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our memories.
