Jean Brown's Obituary
Jean Kathryn Brown (nee Youngmann), age 70, of North Ridgeville, died on Saturday evening, August 13, 2005 at EMH Regional Medical Center, Elyria; following a sudden illness.
She was born in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1959; having moved from Cleveland. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School; January Class of 1955.
Mrs. Brown was a bus driver ( loved by the students) for the North Ridgeville City Schools; from 1967 until she retired in 1997. .
She was a member of the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, North Ridgeville.
She was a member of the OAPSE-AFSCME Union. After retiring she served as Council Member at Large for the City of North Ridgeville; where she served as council president.
She served on the School Strategic Planning Committee, 1996; the Master Planning Committee, 1997; the Transportation sub-committee; as chairperson of the Safety Committee and also served on the Senior Advisory Board for the North Ridgeville City Council. She also was volunteer with the North Ridgeville Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed making wedding cakes and bowling on the Gutter Clutter Bowling League.
Survivors include her sons, Scott W. (Debbie) Brown Sr., of Lake Placid, FL and Bruce C. Brown, of Whitesburg, KY; two grandsons, Matthew N.L. Brown and Scott W. Brown, Jr.; brother Ralph F. Youngmann, of Strongsville; loved by nephew and many nieces..
She was preceded in death by her former husband, James E. Brown (1994); parents, Frank and Elsie (nee Frantz) Youngmann; sister, Ruth Lackman.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Rev. David Connor, pastor of the 1st Congregational United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
