Jay C. Walland's Obituary
Jay C. Walland age 79, of North Ridgeville passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday October 14, 2025.
Born in Cleveland, he had resided in North Ridgeville for the past 15 years after moving from Fairview Park.
Jay was a US Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He then went on to serve 27 years as a Police Officer for the City of Cleveland, retiring as a Sergeant in 2000. He was a member of the F.O.P. Cleveland and was a life member of the VFW, Cleveland. In his free time, Jay enjoyed fishing with family and friends.
He is survived by his long-time companion Ramona McLemore, daughter Julie (Laszlo) Takacs of California, son Jason Walland of Elyria and his granddaughter Courtney Walland.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Margaret Walland and his two sisters, Hazel Sferry and Jan Stewart.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4-7 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where services will be held 11 AM Tuesday. Rev. Alan Jenkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
