Janice C. Edwards' Obituary
Janice C. Edwards (nee Elkins), age 84, of Elyria, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Life Care Center of Westlake. She was born on October 19, 1941 in Ranger, West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria for 24 years before retiring and moving to West Virginia with her husband Junior for 7 happy years but returned to Elyria in 1994 due to wanting to be closer to their grandson and daughter. She worked at the Elyria Memorial Hospital laundry and central supply for 20 years. Janice loved to crochet and knit, was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword and word search puzzles.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Joe) Smith of North Ridgeville; grandson Daniel of Elyria; special "adopted" daughter Cyndi (Tony) Vitale and her family; multiple nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, J. Clyde; son Duane Edwards; mother Geraldine McCoy; brother Jessie Earl Elkins, Sr.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Funeral Service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
The family suggests donations be made in Janice's name to one of her favorite charities: Leukemia Society, American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
Interment will be in Ridge Hill Cemetery, Amherst
