Janet Johnson's Obituary
Janet G. Johnson (nee Hensley), age 82, a resident of Avon for the past 16 years and formerly of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 12, 2012 at her home under the care of New Life Hospice.
Janet was born December 1, 1929 in Rita, WV to the late John and Orlena (nee Stallard) Hensley. She married Bernard H. Johnson on April 19, 1948 and he lovingly survives.
Also left to cherish her memory is her son, Bernie (Joanne) Johnson, Avon; grandchildren, B.J. (Susan) Johnson, Stephanie (Denny Tyree) Whitmer and Chad (Trish Dougan) Johnson; seven great grandchildren; brother, Bill Hensley, Quinby, SC; and sister, Connie (T.D.) Sykes, Orlando, FL.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, "Kat" Winesett and Helen Sparks; and brothers, John Jr. and Terry Hensley.
Janet retired in 1986 from Januzzi's Shoes on Broadway, Lorain, where she was a sales clerk for more than 20 years. In her free time she enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, gardening, canning, doing crafts and fishing.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 16, 2012. The Rev. James Peters will preside with committal rites and burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
