James A. Yagielo's Obituary
James A. Yagielo, age 72, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake, after a short illness.
He was born in Lorain and had been a lifelong resident of Lorain County.
He worked as a pipe fitter for Republic Steel in Lorain for 40 years, retiring in 2015 and was also a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitter Local #42 in Norwalk and St. Clarence Church in North Olmsted.
He was an avid Cleveland sports fan who had a passion for collecting baseball cards and enjoyed coaching his son’s various baseball teams for the Hot Stove leagues in North Ridgeville, going to his grandson’s soccer games and other sporting events, being with family, gardening, yardwork, and taking walks through the Metro Parks with his wife.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn (nee Koleszar), sons, James (Rose) Yagielo of Daytona Beach, Florida, Jason (Emily) Yagielo of Asheville, North Carolina, Joe (Lorena) Yagielo of Clinton Twp., Michigan, Daughter, Jennifer (Scott) Giancaterino of Amherst, grandchildren, Casey Giancaterino and Gabby Yagielo, brother, Steve Yagielo and sister, Barbara Szczepanowski, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Betty Yagielo, sister, Gloria Zust.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8pm at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. A Mass will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at St. Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted. Please meet at church. Rev. Neil Kookoothe, Pastor.
