James J. Spirko's Obituary
James J. Spirko, age 67, of Sheffield Lake, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of Sheffield Lake for the past 12 years. He previously lived in Brooklyn and Middleburg Hts.
James served in the US Army and did two tours in the Vietnam War.
He worked in quality control for LTV Steel in Cleveland for over 30 years, before becoming an independent contractor for steel inspections.
He enjoyed cooking, electronics, especially building computers and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Spirko of Brooklyn, Karen Spirko of Sheffield Lake, Jennifer Spirko-Kuhn of Perry; son, James (Tammy) Spirko of North Ridgeville; 8 grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers, Thomas Spirko Sr. and Robert (RoseAnn) Spirko both of Sheffield Lake, Steven (Rita) Spirko of Sheffield Village and Joseph Spirko of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. and Irene (nee Mazek) Spirko.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Thursday at 10 AM in the funeral home. Fr. Bob Franco, will officiate.
Full Military Honors will be conducted at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman on Thursday at 12:30PM.
