James "Bobby" Raines' Obituary
James R. “Bobby” Raines Sr., age 83, of Grafton, passed away on May 8, 2016 at the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.
He was born on April 24, 1933 in Peterstown, West Virginia and has been a resident of Grafton for the past 3 years. U.S. Navy Veteran. He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1985, where he had worked as a block repairman.
Bobby was an avid football fan, especially high school football games in Peterstown, WV. He also enjoyed golfing, horse racing and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Elizabeth; daughters Mary Basham of Hudson and Julia Lus of Medina; son James Raines Jr.; stepsons Toney (Cheryl) French of Amherst and Timothy (Joni) French of Fairview, TN; stepdaughter Connie (Thomas) Ratcliff of North Ridgeville; many grandchildren; sisters Shirley (Willie Jr.) Hedrick and Phyllis (Denny) Ferguson, both of Peterstown, WV.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Wade James Hampton and Nelva Mae (nee Pyne) Raines; sister Nora Mae Strickland.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, on Wednesday 1-3 & 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service Thursday at 2 PM in the Funeral Home. Rev. George A. Gribben, III will officiate.
Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery.
