James E. "Jim" Mattix's Obituary
James “Jim” Eugene Mattix, age 80, of North Ridgeville, formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his residence. He was born to parents Horace Mattix and Amelia “Amy” Mattix (nee Shemechko) in Cleveland, Ohio. Jim was a jack of all trades, lifelong artist, and retired as a truck driver from Victory Tube. Jim married his wife, Margie Mattix (nee Noss) in 1980, and was happily married for 45 years, raising their family in North Ridgeville. Jim was a talented athlete and loved Cleveland sports. He enjoyed golfing, horseshoes, football, baseball, fishing, reading, painting, and most of all, spending time with his children. He also enjoyed life with his many dogs and making people laugh.
Jim is the loving husband of Marguerite “Margie” Mattix; proud father of Samantha “Sam” (Josh Miller) Mattix and Cassandra “Cassie” (Tyler Stanton) Mattix; beloved grandfather of Blake. Cherished brother of Richard (Sheila) Mattix and Charles Mattix; uncle of Deborah (Troy), Colleen (Brian) and Nicole; and great uncle of Owen and Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace Mattix and Amelia Mattix (nee Schemechko); and brothers Dennis Mattix and Horace “Hal” Mattix.
The family will receive friends for a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.
