James "Joe" J. Zett's Obituary
James J. “Joe” Zett, age 72, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Life Care Center of Elyria.
He was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1956.
He worked as a machine operator for MOEN in Elyria for over 35 years before retiring in 1996.
Joe served in the US Army from 1967-1970 during the Vietnam War. He was an active, life member and past commander of the VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville where he served on several committees and Color Guard.
He is survived by his brothers Gary Zett of Georgia, Rick Zett(Hilda) of North Ridgeville; stepson, Justin Flickinger(Crystal) of North Ridgeville; nephews Daniel(Jessica) and Eric; great niece and nephew, Caleb and Lilly.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Zett in 2014; parents, James and Sibyl Zett.
Graveside service Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
Memorials may be made in Joe’s name to the VFW Post 9871, 6805 Lear Nagle Rd, North Ridgeville, OH 44039, for the annual children’s Christmas Party.
