Jim was by far, one of THE BEST teachers in our building and that I have known in my career. He was a model of wisdom and ability to engage his students and team members in the classroom and on the court. He was a true professional educator and a genuine-hearted human being. My approach to teaching has changed by knowing him and I will work to keep his spirit alive through my teaching practice.
He was the best camp counselor i ever had had him for 4 years great guy
I remember Mr. Muth's devotion, to making history be interesting, I also love to remember the amazing way, he coached volleyball. He was hands down, one of the greatest men, to have walked this earth. Both in his devotion to his family, but also to his devotion to his students, and volleyball players! I wish he could still be here, to continue to expand the minds of the student s at Firelands, and to continue, to inspire girls, in the game of volleyball, by giving his intense pep talks!
My Uncle Tom (brother to my father, Rod) grew up in Nebraska and at some point moved to Ohio where my my cousins (Jim, Phil and Jeanie) all grew up. Being 20 year younger than them, I never got much time to really know them. I have only three brief memories of the time they came this way to visit, the last time being nearly 7 or 8 years ago...My sister and I were always very excited to see our cousins because they were always ecstatic and fun to be around! Time has slipped away for our family and I wish we could have gotten together with Jim one last time....he is looking over us now with his father, grandpa Manuel and grandma Mae, and my brother, Beau. Muth means determined individual, and Jim was determined to hold on as long as he could.
May he rest in peace till we are all reunited one glorious day.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." -Revelation 21:4
Mr. Muth will always be an amazing teacher and coach. He was the best teacher I had in school. He will be forever missed.
Char,
We are so sorry for your loss. Jim was an amazing man and left an imprint on our lives that will not soon be forgotten. We will miss him, his smile, his warmth, and his passion but take solace that he is now with our Father and no longer has any suffering. Our prayers are with you and the children for God's love to fill you, His peace to rest upon you, and for restoration.
With our love,
Chris, Tiffany, Logan, and Ariana
I will always remember the fun times we had in youth group--SPOONS, kick ball, teaching us how to play volleyball in the church, sardines, Destination Unknowns, "Murder" games, setting up the worship area when you got that telephone pole shoved into your chest, the moment you told us that Char was pregnant (with Abbey) and you couldn't hold back your excitement, WANEW retreats--especially the one where you climbed on the rafters to take pictures of us untying our shoes, or when you walked out on the frozen lake to get a football--Chi-Rho camp craziness, teaching us about God, guiding our spiritual lives in the right direction, and so much more. Without you, I don't think I would be a youth group leader today, or have such great memories from youth group. Thank you for everything you did to assist in my walk with God. You will always hold a special place in my heart and I will think of you every time I play SPOONS.
Rest in Peace
