James "Jim" Midkiff's Obituary
James Edward "Jim" Midkiff, age 74, of Columbia Station, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Southwest General Hospital, Middleburg Hts, following a sudden illness.
He was born in Whitesville, West Virginia and had been a resident of Columbia Station for over 50 years.
Jim served in the US Air Force.
He worked for General Motors Chevy Plant in Parma and retired in 1994.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, woodworking, music, collectibles, spending time on his computer, traveling out West and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Peggy (nee Cottrell); sons, Tim (Patricia) Midkiff of Elyria, Jim Midkiff of Columbia Station; step-sons, Kenneth Brock of Columbia Station, Neal (Jeannette) Brock of Elyria; sister, Mary (Ernie) Schurdell of Florida; sister-in-law, Monazella Midkiff of Texas; grandchildren, Jamie, Stephanie, Brian, Katelyn and Carrie; great-grandchildren, Torey and McKendra.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Juanita Midkiff and his brother, Robert in 2011.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the funeral home. Rev. Denver Daniel, Pastor of Christian Unity Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Royalton Road Cemetery.
