James F. Harwedel's Obituary
James F. “Jim” Harwedel, age 68, of Grafton, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Lorain following a short illness.
He was born in Elyria and had been a resident of Grafton for the past 38 years moving from North Ridgeville.
Jim served in the US Navy on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War.
He worked as a hydraulics mechanic for Diamond Products for 10 years retiring in 2014. He previously worked for 3M in Cleveland for 18 years.
He was a member of VFW Post 3341 in Grafton and AMVETS Post 32 in Elyria.
He loved to fish, was an avid bow hunter and enjoyed competing in Archery.
Survivors include his wife Wanda, sons, Shane of Elyria, Shawn of Grafton; grandson, Zerick of Elyria; sisters, Judy Oscker of North Olmsted, Rita (Bill) Jubak of Huron; brothers, Thomas of Dallas, Texas, Timothy (Carol) of Grafton; brother-in-law, Mark Hadaway of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Hadaway; parents, Francis and Dorothy Harwedel.
Friends may call Monday from 10 AM until time of services at 11 AM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Rev. Mr. Don Jankowski will officiate.
Private burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville at a later date.
