James B. Hansen's Obituary
James B. Hansen, age 85, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Northridge Healthcare Center in North Ridgeville.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 5 years. He previously lived in Gray’s Lake, Illinois. He grew up in and graduated from Elmwood Park High School. He then went on to earn his bachelors degree in business administration from Northwestern University.
James grew up working for his father at Hansen’s Grocery. He then went on to own and operate 3 Barnaby’s Taverns in the Chicago area.
He enjoyed fishing, building WWII heavy equipment models and studying WWII history.
Survivors include his sons, Mark (Mandy) Hansen of Mayfield Heights, John (Karen) Hansen of North Ridgeville; grandchildren, Patrick Rizzuto, Gabriel , Mark , Michael , Christopher, Caitlin and Eric Hansen; sister, Dorothy (Victor) Swanson of Northfield, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; companion of 45 years, Marilyn Rosencrans; parents, Lars and Marie Hansen and brother, Richard Hansen.
Friends may call Friday from 10AM until the time of Memorial Service at 11AM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville.
Rev. Paul Pater will officiate.
Inurnment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
