James E Gammalo's Obituary
James E. Gammalo, age 46, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born in Berea and had been a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville.
James served in the US Army as a helicopter mechanic and served in the Ohio Army National Guard.
He was working as a supervisor for Beckett Air in North Ridgeville for the past 12 years and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville, where he was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and volunteered at the community outreach monthly meals. He was formerly a Pastor of Harvest Christian Church in Elyria in the early 2000’s.
James enjoyed reading, listening to music, watching movies, playing the guitar, bird watching, especially hummingbirds and cooking for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Alice (nee Aplaca); daughters, Jazmine (Joey) Anderson of Columbia Station, Anna Gammalo at home; son, Elisha Gammalo at home; 2 grandchildren Abraham and Olivia Anderson, and one on the way, father, Damian Gammalo of Berea; mother, Judy (Paul) Papes of North Ridgeville; sisters, Barbara Sponseller and Michelle (Roger) Adkins both of North Ridgeville and Heather (Tony) Redick of Finley,
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Arnold Malson.
Friends may call Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10-11 am at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. An 11:00 Prayer Service will be followed by 11:30 am mass at St. Peter Church. Rev Bob Franco, Pastor will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, North Ridgeville, where North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter Memorial Fund, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville.
