James Emlin Davis, age 84, of Columbia Station, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Villa Camillus Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on February 2, 1934 in Marietta, Ohio and has been a resident of Colum Read Obituary
We are so blessed to have had Jim in our lives when we were growing up on Colfax. The Davis family has always been special to us over the years.
We had a lovely visit a few years ago when we were visiting Ohio. So many memories and so much laughter.
Our sincere condolences to Jean, Bucky, Sandy and the grandchildren.

A strong memory I have of my Uncle Jim is when we were kids back in the 60's - on Sundays after church services our families would go to each other's home for lunch. Riding in the car - the cousins always like to go with family members. Uncle Jim chewed tobacco - and I would beg the other kids to let me sit anywhere but behind Uncle Jim. He loved to torment me by having the car windows down and us kids had to be on our toes to dodge flying tobacco. He was so ornery and we all loved it! He was and is my favorite Uncle - always big-hearted, kind and a positive male role model in my life. I will miss him very much, and I hope Aunt Jean's many positive memories over their 66-year marriage will give her comfort in the coming days, weeks and months. Mary, Maegen and I always enjoyed serving Jim on your Friday afternoon visits to the restaurant. Jim was witty, gentle and insightful and will be fondly remembered. Thanks for taking such good care of him, Jean. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Frank Fuhs.

Jim was the sweetest kindest man he was an uncle by marriage. He always made me feel part of the family. We had a special relationship with our little pokes and japes at each other. I have been bless to have know him and will treasure the memories. He had great faith in God and loved gospel music. As we sat one afternoon not long ago and listen to Alan Jackson gospel CD we both knew ever song we sang along. I will miss him and fondly keep him in my heart. R.I.P. uncle Jim
My Popi was so dear to my heart words can never even express it. I had a lot of fun with him. Silly things like thumb wrestling in church, sitting next to him on the recliner watching boxing just to be next to him. And our sharing of cookies on Christmas Eve. I’m going to miss his calls on my birthday when he would sing to me. He was a strong man with a strong faith and I know he is no longer suffering and at peace. I love you Popi
Jan Gray & myself (Debbie Peregrine) just visited Mr & Mrs Davis with their daughter Sandy. It was heartwarming to see my childhood friends parents again. Jim was so sweet & very loving. He will be sorrowly missed.
