James E. Davis' Obituary
James Emlin Davis, age 84, of Columbia Station, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Villa Camillus Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
He was born on February 2, 1934 in Marietta, Ohio and has been a resident of Columbia Station since 1956 and graduated from Warren High School on May 18, 1951. Jim was a firearms instructor, retiring in 2012, worked at the Cleveland branch of Brinks Inc., retiring in 1995, and was a police officer for the City of Linndale, retiring in 1996.
James was admired and respected by all who knew him and had a great faith in God. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and was also fond of bowling, golfing and going hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Jean (nee Maffett); daughter Sandra Powell of North Ridgeville; son James Emlin "Buck" (Nina) Davis of Columbia Station; grandchildren Shari (Fred) Helwig, Amanda (Greg) Ritchie, Chad (Lisa) Powell, Hillary (Dave) LaMarca and Heather (Steve) Reidl; great grandchildren Devin, Tyler, Ashlee, Jared, Violet, Lilly, Daisy and Gwen; sisters Ruth (Joe) Muntz and Lois Lonaker; sister-in-law Ester Davis; many nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his son-in-law Butch Powell; parents Emlin Leroy and Helen Grace (nee Flowers) Davis; brother William F. Davis.
Funeral Services Saturday at 12:00 noon in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Royalton Road Cemetery, Columbia Township.
