James C. Carpenter's Obituary
James C. Carpenter, age 73, of Grafton, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2020 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born on August 23, 1947 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident of N. Eaton. For over 40 years Jim, worked for Avery Dennison, as a printer, in which he furthered his career as Head Shift Leader, before retiring in 2012. Jim was an active member of the Columbia Station Eagles. He enjoyed carpentry, farming, painting, and tractors. He had a knack at taking wood from trees, to paint pictures into wall art designs. Jim loved socializing with friends, always taking a need in making them feel welcomed. Jim is survived by his children James W. Carpenter of Grafton, Jeffrey H. Carpenter (Heather) of Grafton, Jill D. Gallogly of Grafton, Jesse Carpenter Sr of Grafton; grandchildren Nick, Ashley, Jeffrey, Mason, Maddison, Riley, Jesse Jr., Gavin; great-grandchildren Ashley and Bronna; sisters Lynn and Joan; and his dog Jack. He is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years Gayle Ann Carpenter (nee Scaltrito), who departed from our lives sadly 2 weeks before her husband, parents Wesley and Helen; brother Cleve, sister Kay. Jim Carpenter is a man who will always be remembered by so many. It gives great Solace that Jim and Gayle are resting together. Private burial at Butternut Ridge Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 10, 2020 from 6-9PM at the Eagles, 27190 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station.
