James M. Bridges Sr.'s Obituary
James M. Bridges Sr. age 81, of North Ridgeville passed away Monday July 8, 2024 at Lois Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.
He was born in Miami County, grew up in Troy, Ohio and had resided in North Ridgeville for over 50 years. He previously lived in North Olmsted, London, Kentucky.
He served in the US Navy in 1962 and 63. He was a longtime member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting, Cleveland sports, especially the Browns and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.
James was a salesperson for J.D. Indoor Comfort in Sheffield.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Carol (nee Hudacek), children, Bonnie Bowling (Daryl Chidisey) of Nova, Wendy Dias (Don Gilland) of North Ridgeville, Jill (Randy) Chapman of North Ridgeville, Jimmy (Tiffany) Bridges of East Bernstadt, KY and John (Stephani) Bridges of Lawton, OK
13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sisters, Carole Roberts of Mansfield, Judith Rejonis of
Gallipolis and brother, Keith Bridges of Heath.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dusty Brooks, grandson, Brayden Bridges, parents, Rev. Ralph Soloman and Bertha Bridges, sisters, Lois Gunder, Marge Lawson, Eleanor Fiscus and Norma Kunze, brothers, Bernard, Arthur, Joe, Robert, Phillip, Kenneth and Paul Bridges.
James donated his body to the Cleveland Clinic; burial will be at a later date in Ridgeville Cemetery.
A private service will be held for the family, they ask that all who have had the privilege of knowing Jim take a moment from their day to celebrate this wonderful man’s life with prayer and fond remembrance.
