James Brennan,'s Obituary
James A. Brennan, Jr., 89, of North Ridgeville, died peacefully on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at home with his family by his side. Jim was born February 3, 1923 in Scranton, Pa. to the late James and Winifred (nee Heffron) Brennan. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Irene S. (nee Saar) Brennan; daughter, Sally Brennan; sons, Terry and Jay Brennan; brother, Francis; and two sisters, Winifred Clore and Lois Conoboy.
Jim was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and attended the University of Scranton where he was a member of the high diving team at both schools. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy from 1942-46. Jim retired in 1985 from American Brands Tobacco Products where he was employed for 37 years. He then worked as the Maintenance Director of the Service Department of North Ridgeville for 2 years.
Jim was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, North Ridgeville, where he was active in the men's renewal and golf league. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed serving his community. Jim was a longtime member of the North Ridgeville Lions Club where he was past editor of the Lions Tail Newsletter.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Nancy Kane, North Ridgeville; 6 grandchildren including Libby Roysden, Megan Rudy and Tyler Kane; 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas and Ryan Roysden, Carter and Cassidy Rudy; sisters; Margie Gordon, Scranton and Marie Pelikan, Jupiter, Fla.; and brother, Martin Brennan, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday with prayers at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Road, North Ridgeville, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Father George Vrabel will preside. Private interment will be held at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Olmsted Falls.
