James Bramwell's Obituary
James H. Bramwell, age 90 of Elyria, died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at Center Ridge Health Campus following a short illness.
He was born January 28, 1915 in Elyria and was a lifelong resident. He served in the US Army Infantry during WWII. He received the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal, Japan.
Mr. Bramwell retired in 1977 from US Steel Lorain Works where he worked as a heater for 44 years. He was a member of United Steel Worker Union Local 1104.
Mr. Bramwell enjoyed traveling, bowling, and playing golf and was active in several leagues. He also was an avid Indians fan.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Lavonne "Babe" Bramwell, 2 grandchildren, Tom Bramwell, of Amherst and Sue Irwin, of Maumee, OH; and four Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Helen Bramwell (nee Hall), son, Jack Bramwell, three brothers, Joe, Ralph, and Harold Bramwell, and two sisters Helen Fehlam and Jean Dean.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. Father Frank Kosem, pastor of Saint Jude Catholic Church, Elyria will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio .
