James Bliss' Obituary
James L. Bliss, age 70, of North Royalton, formerly of North Ridgeville died Thursday at Mount Royal Villa, North Royalton following a long illness.
He was born in Elyria and had resied most of his life in North Ridgeville until moving to North Royalton one and 1/2 years ago.
He worked for the US Postal Service for 34 years retiring in 1988, He was one of the first letter carriers for the city of North Ridgeville.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in North Ridgveville and served as a senior server. He was a past member of the Holy Name Society and the VFW 9871, the the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. of Lorain County. He also server as a 4H Advisor many years ago.
His hobbies included Flying, Horses, Traveling and Camping.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann (nee Kobak), two sons, James M. of Wakeman, and Joseph A. of Hinkley, two daughters, Sharon L. Lustek of Westlake and Brenda A. McCrann of Avon Lake , eight grandchildren, two brothers, Elwin of Pt. Charlotte, Florida and Don of Elyria, and one sister, Janet Blair of Ashland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Laylin and Wannedo Bliss.
The Family will recieve friends Sunday from 2-5 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 9:30 AM Monday. 10:00 am Mass will follow at St. Julie Church. Reverend Richard Gonser will be the celebrant. Burail will be in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville. The VFW post 1079, Elyria will conduct military honors at the graveside.
