James A. Alexander's Obituary
James A. Alexander, age 73, of Columbia Station, passed away at his home on July 3, 2016 after a brief illness.
He was born on November 21, 1942 in Titusville, PA and has been a resident of Columbia Station for the past 22 years, moving from Westlake and Berea.
Jim was a U.S. Army Veteran, and had been a Lieutenant and Investigator for the Titusville, PA police department, retiring in 1990 after 25 years of service. He went on to work as a security officer for LCC for 18 years, retiring in 2010 and most recently worked for the Brentwood Golf Course for the past 4 years.
He enjoyed golfing, tending to his horses and was an avid reader of mystery novels. Jim had a quick wit, never met a stranger and was a great friend to all who knew him. He was devoted to his dog Buddy who showed up at his door one Thanksgiving day.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Vicki Crist; son Andrew Alexander of Columbia Station; daughter Shelley Alexander of Titusville, PA; brother Dick (Linda) Alexander of Centerville, PA; many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Eileen (nee Slater) Alexander; brothers Bill and Donald Alexander
Memorial Service Thursday, July 21 at 8:30 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., N. Ridgeville where family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. The family requests donations be made to the Line of Duty Fund and mailed to the Dallas Foundation, 3963 Maple Ave, Suite 390, Dallas, TX 75219.
