Ms. Jacquelyn Smith, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026, in Plant City, Florida.
She was born on September 26, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan. Later in life, she made her home in Ohio, where she raised her family alongside her beloved husband, James Smith. They shared many years together until his passing in 1990. Afterward, Jacquelyn eventually relocated to Florida, where she spent her later years.
Jacquelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be remembered for her kindness, strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family. Her caring nature touched the lives of many, and she found great joy in spending time with those she loved most.
She was the proud mother of four children: Jim Smith, Joe Smith, Janet Smith Hamel and her husband, Richard Hamel, and Jay Smith. While her family was the center of her life, she also endured great loss. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith, in 1990; her son, Jim Smith, in 2022; her granddaughter, Rebecca Kaspar, in 2021; and her son, Jay Smith, in 2026.
Jacquelyn leaves behind her loving children, Joe Smith and Janet Smith Hamel (Richard); her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Kaspar and Jordan Kaspar; her beloved great-grandchildren, Isabelle Kaspar, Eddie Kaspar, and Paislee Kaspar; along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jacquelyn's life and honor her memory. Details regarding services will be announced by the family at a later date.
