Iva Tigert's Obituary
Iva Mae Tigert (nee Groves), 90 of Eaton Township, died Thursday December 1, 2005 at the home of her son after a long illness.
Born in Clinton, Oklahoma October 19, 1915 and moving to Altus, Oklahoma at a young age she met and married the love of her life, William E. Tigert, and resided on a farm East of Altus, Oklahoma until his passing in 1993. At that time she moved to Ohio to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Ray and LaWanda Tigert.
She led a simple and non-complicated life on a farm and enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, and visiting with friends and relatives.
Survivors include sons Ray Tigert and wife LaWanda of Eaton Township, and Bill Tigert and wife Sandie of Smyrna, TN, granddaughter Janet Beane, great- grandson Ryan Beane and great-granddaughter Stephanie Beane of Elyria, grandson Bruce Tigert and wife Jackie of North Ridgeville, grandson Jimmy Tigert and wife Trisha of Salt Lake City, Utah, grandson Joey Tigert of Smyrna, TN, grandson Paul Tigert and wife April, and great- grandson Aiden Michael of Smyrna TN, grandson Daryl Tigert (U.S. Armed Services- Okinawa) and granddaughter Emily Tigert of Smyrna, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews in Oklahoma, Texas, California, and Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Tigert in 1993; her parents Lon and Clara Groves (nee Waldrop),; brothers Jim, Harley, Grady, and Boyd; sisters Edith Overfield, all of Altus, OK, and Faye Wentworth of Thousnad Oaks, Ca.
A family graveside service and interment will be held at the Altus Cemetery, Altus, Oklahoma, at a later date.
Memorial contributions suggested to a charity of the donor's choice in memory of Iva.
Arrangements are under the direction of the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, North Ridgeville.
