Irene A. "Babe" O'Brien's Obituary
Irene A. "Babe" O’Brien (nee Kantor), age 77, of North Ridgeville, passed away on August 14, 2016 at St. John Westshore Hospital in Westlake after a brief illness.
She was born on June 21, 1939 in Cleveland and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 46 years, moving from Cleveland.
Irene worked as an assembler for Phoenix Products Inc., retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville.
Irene always thought of others first, and enjoyed cooking and baking, always making extra to share with family, her doctors and those she went to dialysis with. She loved having family gatherings, with St. Patrick’s Day being her most cherished.
She is survived by her son Gerald (Cindy) O’Brien of Amherst; daughter Kathleen (Richard) Conroy of Elyria; grandchildren James Squire, Sonja (Jason) Beat and Travis Gordon, all of Wellington; 6 great grandchildren; brother John Kantor of Lakewood; sister Dorothy Miller of Parma; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald P.; sons Brian and Terrance; parents John and Catherine (nee Schubert) Kantor.
Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and on Thursday for a prayer service at 9:30 a.m., preceding a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Catholic Church, North Ridgeville. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
