Hessie Vaughn's Obituary
Hessie M. (nee Vance) Vaughn, age 77, of Elyria, died on Wednesday morning at the Renaissance, Olmsted Falls; following a long illness.
She was born in Logan West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria the past seven years; having moved from Williamstown, NJ. She had previously lived in North Ridgeville.
Mrs. Vaughn had worked as a nursing assistant at the Augustine Manor, Cleveland for 12 years and retired from there in 1985.
She enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards and baking.
She served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, David L. Vaughn; son Michael E. (Therese) Gramatikos, of Garfield Heights; daughters, Michelle (Carl) Lee, of Amherst, Mary (Butch) Wells, of Sheffield Township, and Frances Ring, of Westlake; Thirteen Grandchildren and Twenty-two Great- Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Appie and Rosie (nee Shepherd) Vance; brothers George and Everett Vance and sister, Nettie Cremeans.
Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 PM and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville; where services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Reverend Rich Boll, senior pastor of the Cooley Avenue Church of God, Cleveland, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon
