Herman Lovejoy's Obituary
Herman Lovejoy, age 85, of Elyria passed peacefully at home on Wednesday September 25, 2024 to explore the hollers of heaven with his brothers.
He was surrounded by his wife, daughter, grandkids & great- grand kids because in this family, we travel in a pack. We will never forget being gathered together at the hospital for a surgery he was having last December, when the surgeon came out to say family could see him, the surgeon was in a little bit of shock when the entire waiting room was for him.
He was born in Harts Creek, WV. Moving to Cleveland in 1956, then North Ridgeville, then finally making his home in Elyria since 2005.
Herman enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing his guitar and singing Blue Grass and Country Music and driving his Toyota Truck, his greatest treasure was spending time with his family, especially after he retired from Weyer Hauser in 2001 where he worked over 45 years.
He was loved so very dearly by his family & we always made sure he knew so. Herman was a devoted Husband to his wife of 64 years Bobbie, they had just celebrated their anniversary the day before he passed. Bobbie received a bouquet of red roses & this year was no different. Together they raised two beautiful daughters Felicia & their angel in heaven Dee Dee who passed away in 2016. He is survived by their 7 grandchildren Chastidy Fender-Quisenberry, Rick (Desiree) Fender, Mikey (Nicohle) Fender, Jason (Courtney Plas) Lovejoy, Timmy (Kylee Stalzer) Hackney, Stephanie (Mike) Alaimo & Breanna Fender, 9 great grandchildren; Summer Quisenberry, Mariah (Jake) Robinson, Asya Matthews, Landon Thomas, Korina Hackney, Caleigh Fender, Caysen Taylor, Weston Alaimo, Kerris Hackney, Knox Hackney and Kelsin Mealey. I told you we are a pretty big pack, he was also survived by his Great-great Grandchildren Michael Quisenberry and Lucas Elkins and one sister Esther (Howard) Vance and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death in addition to his daughter Dee Dee, his parents, Matt and Rosie Lovejoy, brothers Acie, Herb, Lawrence, Farlie Lovejoy and one sister Eunice Vance.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Bogner Family funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville. Funeral services will take place 11 AM Monday in the funeral home. Chaplin Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridgeville Cemetery.
