Herbert Shough's Obituary
Herbert B. Shough, age 92, of Monroe, NC, formerly of Elyria, passed away Monday, September, 27, 2010 in Monroe, North Carolina.
He was born June 20, 1918 in Logan County, Ohio and had lived in Monroe, North Carolina for the past 3 years moving from Bradenton Florida where he lived for over 25 years.
Mr. Shough served in the US Army during World War II.
He was a Merchandise Manager with Sears at Midway Mall, retiring in 1980.
Herb is survived by his wife Sally Marshall Shough; sons, H. Richard Shough of Edmond, OK, C. Douglas Shough of Elyria, C. Thomas Richards of Marshville, NC, and Timothy P. Richards of Columbus, NC; daughters, Denise Rogerson of Statesville, NC, Terri Barricello of Mooresville, NC, and Melissa Richards of Edgewater, FL; a sister, Ruth Yoesting of New Carlisle; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Kennedy Shough; a brother, H. Mildren Shough; sisters, Flomarie and Phyllis Shough; and a daughter, Cynthia Rongstad; parents Charles and Mary (nee Brinser) Shough.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Brookdale Cemetery, 41600 Oberlin Elyria Rd, Elyria. Reverend Paul Jaster, Pastor of Emmanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. VFW Post 9871, North Ridgeville, will conduct full military honors.
A memorial gathering will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church 360 Princeton Avenue, Elyria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
