Helen Vittori's Obituary
Helen J. Vittori (nee Kolodziej), 91, passed away on May 4, 2012 at EMH. She was born on January 18, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio. She resided in her N. Ridgeville home since 1948. She attended St. Hyacinth's School and South High School in Cleveland. In 1942 she enlisted in the Women's Army Air Corps as a private first class and during World War II she worked in the Hospital at Fort Devin's, Mass.
In September of 1947 Helen was married to Ernest Vittori at St. John's Cathedral, Cleveland, Ohio and they shared 59 years together. She was a loving Mom to her six children. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary at St Peter's Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary in N. Ridgeville, Post 9871. She obtained a Diploma to teach Sunday School and taught Sunday CCD Classes at St. Peters for many years and volunteered with the PTU. She was a founding member of St Julie Billart Church. She enjoyed crocheting and other crafts in her spare time.
She is survived by her children, Bill Vittori, Barbara ( Kerm)Price, Cathy ( Ralph) Wittenbrook, Len(Ruth)Vittori, daughter-in-law Mary M. Vittori, all of Elyria and Theresa (Al) Roessler of Amherst.Her grandchildren-Jeff Vittori, Michelle Vittori-Elais, Jason Vittori, Duane "Chris" Denn ,Tony Denn, Laura Layne, Mike Reisinger, Matt Reisinger, Kevin Reisinger, Kate Wittenbrook, Erin Vasi, Lynn Vittori, Adrienne Carver, Andrew Vittori, Elizabeth Vittori, April Roessler, and Gretchen Roessler . Her great -grandchildren Alisha Vittori, Lydia Vittori, J.D.Vittori, Alicia Vittori, David and Emily Loyer, Elijah and Adrienna Vittori, Kylie Vittori, Logan Denn, Ashley, Jessica, Branden and Joshua Layne, Tyler and Abygyle Denn, Chase, Camden, Addison and Evan Reisinger, Molly and Emma Reisinger, and Leah Carver. Great-great grandchild, Addilynn Satterwhite. Sister, Sister Mary Bertille SSJ (Rose Kolodziej) and brother Joe Kolodziej.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest E. in 2006; son, Ernest G. "Jerry" in 1998; grandchildren, Marie Reisinger and Chad Roessler; parents, John Kolodziej and Catherine Kolodziej (nee Stachurski); twin brother, Stephen; brother, Casmir; sister, Mary Drought.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd, N. Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a 10 AM Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, 5500 Lear Nagle Rd., N. Ridgeville. Reverend Dr. Richard Gonser will be the celebrant. Interment St. Peter Cemetery, N. Ridgeville. Full military honors will be conducted by the VFW North Ridgeville Post 9871.
