Helen Bowers' Obituary
Helen Catherine Bowers (nee Chas), age 87, of N. Ridgeville, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Avon, following a short illness.
Born in Lakewood she had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1951 moving from Parma Hts.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, N. Ridgeville and enjoyed bowling, knitting, gardening, cooking, canning, baking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons Gary Walter (Peggy) Nessel of Thornton, Illinois, James Richard (Elke) Nessel of Julian, CA; daughters, Barbara Sue (William) Lambur of Bedford, Texas, Karen Louise Nessel of Elyria; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harvey Joseph Nessel; second husband, Edward A. Bowers; sisters, Mary Zeal, Rose Marie Dickson; father, Samuel Chas; mother, Mary Slavik and step-father, George Slavik.
Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home followed by 10 AM Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Road, N. Ridgeville. Rev. Stephen Kaminski, Pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Brookpark. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-0050.
