Hazel L. Chappell's Obituary
Hazel L. Chappell (nee Truxall), age 87, of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at New Life Hospice Residential Center of St. Joseph following a long illness.
She was born in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville since 1949.
Hazel worked in the graphic arts division at Sherwin Williams, retiring after 35 years.
Her whole life she was active with the Salvation Army, where she was involved with playing in the band, teaching Sunday School and Prison Ministry. Since she was always working in her yard, her CB handle was “Yardbird”. She also enjoyed listening to her scanner. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.
Survivors include her daughter, April Zaletel of Grafton; granddaughter, Penny Miller of North Ridgeville; grandsons, Michael Moore of N. Carolina, Jesse Zaletel of Cleveland; great-grandchildren, John Moore, Alexis and Michaela Shull, Dylan Miller, Skylar, Michael, Alyssa and Aiden Moore; sister, Betty Truxall of North Ridgeville; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbert and Georgia Truxall; brother, Wilbert; sister, Madeline; infant brothers, Jimmy and James and nephew, Kenneth Truxhall.
Friends may call Friday from 11 AM until the time of services at 12 Noon at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Major Robert Sears will officiate.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
