Harvey L. Brooks' Obituary
Harvey Lynn Brooks, age 74, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born on July 19, 1947 in Houston, Texas and has been a resident of North Ridgeville for the past 11 years. Harvey was a U.S. Navy veteran where he served as a jet pilot. He worked as a private pilot for Hughes Tool and went on to work as a commercial pilot for Continental and United Airlines, retiring in 2007.
Harvey loved to travel and traveled throughout the world with his wife Karen. Las Vegas was his favorite destination. He and Karen often took road trips to Pittsburgh to visit his mother and father-in-law whom they traveled extensively with. He enjoyed golfing, going to concerts and watching car racing, football basketball, baseball and hockey. He adored his cats and could often be found sitting with them.
Harvey is survived by his wife Karen whom he married on January 19, 2021 after spending the last 32 years together; daughter Laura (Scott) Fosher of Tomball, TX; son Ryan Brooks of Houston, TX; grandchildren Peyton and Kobe Fosher; sister Barbara Brooks; father-in-law James Steinkamp.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Mary Brooks; brother Norman Brooks; mother-in-law Barbara Steinkamp.
Memorial Service Monday, March 14th at 5:30 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Dr. Tom MacMillan will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the American Heart Association, 1375 East 9th Street, Suite 600, Cleveland, Ohio 44114. Interment will be private.
