Harry Hess' Obituary
Harry Eugene Hess "Gene", 83, of LaGrange passed away Friday July 17, 2009 at Elyria Memorial Hospital following many years battling with heart disease.
Mr. Hess was born in Seaboard, Tazwell County, VA, and relocated to OH in 1953 to work for the Brook Park Ford Plant. He retired following twety-eight years service as a set up man. Gene served his country in the US Army during WWII in the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He was an active member of the LaGrange Church of God for the past ten years, and was an avid Yankees fan.
Surviving is his wife of sixty-one years, Georgie (nee Keene); daughters and son, Barbara Jean Krenciglova (Michael), Rev. Larry D. Hess (Loretta), Deborah Lynn Wright (Rev. Danny) and Laura "Renee" Hess Hicks (Steven); ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and sister, Margaret Elswick of Seaboard, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hess and Laura Horton Hess Fox; infant children, David Curtis and Martha Jane Hess; granddaughter, Michelle Dawn Hess; brothers, Jay, Henry, Charles, James and Joe Hess; an infant sister and other sisters, Audrey Lester and Tina Crawford.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 2:30-6:00PM at the LaGrange Church of God, 502 North Center St., LaGrange, 44050, where services will be held at 11:00AM Monday. Rev. Danny Wright, Pastor and son-in-law will officiate. Burial to follow in Pittsfield Cemetery where the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871 will conduct full military honors.
