Harry L. Hayes Sr.'s Obituary
Harry L. Hayes Sr., age 73, of North Ridgeville passed away Friday June 20, 2014 at Bradley Bay Nursing Home following a long illness.
He was born in Dunbar, WV. He had resided in North Ridgeville since 1968 after moving from Hurricane, WV.
He served in the US Army from 1962-1965.
He owned and operated Harry’s Automotive in North Ridgeville in the late 1980 and early 90’s. He had previously worked for Bendix in Elyria.
Harry was very mechanical and was a Jack of all Trades. He enjoyed working on cars, watching old movies, especially Westerns.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce (nee Handley), two sons, Harry L. (Kathy) Hayes Jr. of Olmsted Township, Michael Hayes of North Ridgeville, two grandchildren, Heather and David, brothers, John D. “Denny” Hayes of Huntington, WV, Donald (Jackie) Hayes and Ronald (Sherry) Hayes both of Hurricane, WV and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Wilda Hayes, two grandchildren, Michael and Jonathan Hayes and his sister Rebecca Powers.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3-6 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where services will be held 10:30 AM Monday. Rev. Bill Shomo will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
