Harold Pfarr's Obituary
Harold F. "Harry" Pfarr, age 88, of Westlake formerly of North Ridgeville, died Sunday at Rae Ann Suburban Nursing Home, Westlake, following a long illness.
He was born in New York City and had been a resident of Westlake for the past 5 years moving from North Ridgeville where he had lived since 1979. He previously lived in Rocky River for 17 years.
Mr. Pfarr retired in 1979 from General Motors Corporation after 38 years where he was the Oldsmobile Business Zone Manager for 38 years. Following retirement he volunteered for S.C.O. R. E. providing counseling services to potential new business owners, he served as Vice President of the Cleveland Chapter of SCORE. He also served as small business counselor/instructor at the Beach Education Center in Rocky River. He served as Secretary/Treasure for Pfarr Associates, Inc. which provided consulting services.
He also was active with Rotary, Kiwanis, Tri-C Seminars and spent several years on the General Motors Speaker Bureau.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in North Ridgeville.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia; son, Frederick "Rick" Pfarr of North Ridgeville.
He was preceded in death by his brother Arthur Preston Pfarr; sisters, Mildred Marie Keulemans, Eleanor Pfarr and his parents, Frederick C. and Matilda M. Pfarr.
Friends may call Wednesday from 7-9PM at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where prayer services will be held on Thursday at 9:30AM. A 10:00AM Funeral mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church. Reverend Stephen Kaminski, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Lakewood Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter Church 35777 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville Ohio 44039.
