Harold "Pete" Dean's Obituary
Harold W. "Pete" Dean, 90, of Elyria, died May 30, 2012 at Life Care Center of Elyria. He was born July 31, 1921 in Westlake and attended Westlake High School.
He served in the Philippines as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1949.
Harold was a long time resident of North Ridgeville before moving to Elyria in 2001 and was formerly employed by the Dairyman's Milk Company for 23 years. He also worked as a route supervisor for the Coca Cola Company for 10 years before retiring in 1983. After his retirement, he went on to work at Brentwood Golf Course for 14 years, following his passion for golfing and flower gardening. Besides his love of family, he enjoyed bowling in a seniors league and playing cards in his later years.
He was preceded in death in 2002 by his wife of 59 years, Ruby M. Dean (nee Prechtel) and a sister, Mildred Smith; parents, Howard and Irene (nee Jenkins) Dean.
Survivors include his son, Douglas H. (Donna) Dean of Elyria; daughter, Jacqueline C. (George) Perry of Youngstown; grandchildren, Ryan Gaydash of North Ridgeville, Christopher D. (Julie) Dean of Sandusky, Danielle R. (Ross) Phillips of North Ridgeville; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas "Tiger" Phillips.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held on Saturday at 1 PM in the funeral home. Rev. Bill Shomo will officiate.
Burial will be in Ridgeville Cemetery.
