Harold G. "Glen" Houser Jr's Obituary
Harold G. “Glen” Houser Jr., age 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Northridge Health Center after a lengthy illness.
Born on December 2, 1930 in Lebanon, PA, he graduated from Palmyra High School in 1950 and attended Penn State University from 1950 to 1952. Glen served 2 years in the United States Marine Corps before marrying Patricia (nee Kemp) Houser of Mercersburg, PA on August 25, 1956. He worked as an Analytical Chemist for A. S. McCreath and Son, Inc. in Harrisburg PA, transferring to the Cleveland area in 1962. He retired in 1998 after 39 years of service.
He is a member of Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church in North Ridgeville.
Glen loved watching his sons and grandchildren play sports, he also enjoyed wood working, word puzzles, and the summer months would find him working out in his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (nee Kemp); sons Michael Houser of Elyria, David (Rebecca) Houser of AZ and Tim (Tammy) Houser of North Ridgeville; grandchildren Louanna (Cory) Anson, Jenna, Jessica, Joshua, Kyle and Amber; great grandchildren Ava and Charlotte; sisters Ruth Ann Forney of S.C. and Darlene Smith of N.C.; and many nieces and nephews.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents Harold G. Sr. and Sylvia (nee Bolin) Houser; brothers Warren Lee and Kenny Houser.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bogner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. N. Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Reverend Dale Critchley will officiate. Inurnment in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
