Harold W. Hastwell's Obituary
Harold W. Hastwell, age 95 of Elyria, passed away Friday June 3, 2022 at Northridge Health Center, North Ridgeville, Ohio.
He was born in Cleveland and had resided in Elyria for the past 20 years. He had previously lived in Strongsville and Olmsted Falls.
A US Army Veteran, Harold served in the Company A, 30th Infantry during WW II. In his younger days he enjoyed playing baseball, football and basketball. He also enjoyed playing golf, was a member of Berea Masonic Temple, Olmsted Falls Kiwanis Club and Olmsted Community Church.
Harold was a manager of the meat department of Heinen’s Grocery retiring in 1990 after 28 years.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Patricia R. (nee Michaels), daughter, Deborah Burkhardt of Elyria, son, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Hastwell of North Royalton, three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Brittany), Kevin (Brittany Rasmussen), Anna Hastwell, great-grandchildren, Maria and Leo Hastwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold T. and Florence Hastwell, and son-in-law Sonny Burkhardt.
Private family services with military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville.
