Harlan B. Kinsey's Obituary
Harlan B. Kinsey, age 84, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland. He was born on February 1, 1942, in Bokchito, Oklahoma, and was the son of the late Winford A. Kinsey and Freda Cundiff. Harlan spent the past 35 years making his home in North Ridgeville, where he was known as a devoted family man, proud veteran, and loyal friend. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that remained one of his greatest sources of pride. Following his military service, Harlan pursued a career as an Air Traffic Controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, dedicating twenty-three years to ensuring the safety of others before retiring in 2000.
Throughout his life, Harlan found joy in things that reflected his adventurous spirit and curiosity. He loved flying, photography, fishing, building model airplanes and model trains, and spending time enjoying country music. Whether behind a camera, casting a fishing line, or sharing stories about aviation, Harlan’s enthusiasm for the things he loved was unmistakable. Above all, Harlan leaves behind his family, including loving daughters, Brenda Silva of North Ridgeville, Ohio, and Bobbie Kinsey of Cave City Arkansas, eight cherished grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in Harlan’s memory on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 3:00 pm at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, located at 36625 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, OH 44039. Barbara Habecker will officiate the service. The family has requested that those attending wear colorful, casual attire in celebration of his life, and to reflect the joy, warmth, and vibrant spirit with which Harlan lived. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
