Guy Groflo's Obituary
Guy Groflo age 86, of Columbia Station died Friday evening at Southwest General Health Center following a short illness.
He was born in Martin, PA, moving to Columbia Station in 1957.
Mr. Groflo served in the US Army Infantry during WW II where he was a combat engineer.
He received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with six bronze stars.
He retired from Ford Motor Company Brookpark Foundry in 1980 after 23 years of service.
Mr. Groflo was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the VFW Post 9340, the American Legion Eaton Township Post and the Elyria Loyal Order of the Moose.
He enjoyed history, reading and vegetable gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary (nee Petechelle), two sons Fred of Columbia Station and David of Elyria, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister Pauline Glasgow of Medina.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Rosina Groflo, brother, Joseph Groflo and two sisters, Anna Hardy and Irene Bejzak.
The family will receive friends Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Road North Ridgeville where a prayer service will be held 9:15 AM Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 25801 Royalton Road Columbia Station. Reverend Charles Ryba, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, North Ridgeville.
