Gordon C. Tamplin's Obituary
Gordon C. Tamplin, age 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on January 19, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering and worked as a propulsion expert for Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. He was a member of St. Julie Billiart Church in North Ridgeville.
Gordon loved being outdoors, and was an avid backpacker and hiker, and enjoyed camping. He played golf, indoor badminton, and coached his daughter’s soccer teams for many years. He loved woodworking and could be found keeping busy around his yard during the summer months.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marianne (nee Kremchek); daughters Deborah (Gregory) Mueller, Patricia (Robert) Potter and Cathleen Dougherty; grandchildren Zachary and Corin Mueller and Dane Dougherty.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Clair and Lula (nee Banning) Tamplin.
Memorial Service Friday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Bogner Life Celebration Center, 7295 Greenlawn Drive, North Ridgeville, where family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Rev. Bob Franco will officiate. Services will be live streamed on the Bogner Family Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Interment will be private.
